A Fall Wedding at The Hill
in Hudson, New York

A Laid-Back Celebration in the Hudson Valley

Set against the rolling hills of the Hudson Valley, The Hill in Hudson, New York provided the perfect backdrop for N & M’s fall wedding. A celebration that felt as effortless as it was intentional. Surrounded by peak foliage and expansive views, the working farm and restored barn created a setting that was both grounded and striking.

After nine years together, N & M chose to get married just one day before their anniversary — a quiet, meaningful nod to a relationship built on time, friendship, and deep familiarity. More than anything, they were simply excited to be marrying their best friend.

That energy carried through every part of the day.

Before the ceremony, N & M chose to share a private first look. A quiet moment set apart from the rest of the day.

Before guests arrived, they exchanged personal vows, taking the time to reflect on the nine years that brought them there. It was unhurried and emotional, a moment that allowed them to connect with each other before stepping into the celebration.

Rather than saving everything for the ceremony, this gave them space to fully experience both moments in different ways.

A First Look & Private Vows

Guest Arrival at The Hill in Hudson, NY

While the wedding itself was a single-day celebration, the experience extended well beyond it. Friends and family traveled into Hudson for the weekend and spent time together before the day even began.

Crisp fall air, wide open fields, and a barn that balanced rustic character with refined simplicity created an atmosphere that was relaxed and welcoming.

Ceremony at The Hill

Their ceremony unfolded against the backdrop of the Hudson Valley in peak fall color, simple, intentional, and centered on what mattered most.

With the landscape doing much of the work, the focus remained on the two of them and the commitment they were making. It felt natural, unforced, and entirely aligned with who they are.
But what followed was unmistakable.

As soon as the ceremony ended, the energy shifted. Not into formality, but into pure celebration. N & M walked back down the aisle beaming, hands raised, completely caught up in the moment. It wasn’t reserved or performative; it was joyful, unfiltered, and contagious.

Guests rose to meet them, cheering, laughing, and leaning into the energy they created. It was the kind of moment that can’t be planned, only felt.

Cocktail Hour: Personality on Full Display

If the ceremony was grounded and intentional, cocktail hour was where N & M’s personality came fully to life.

Guests were welcomed with a huge grazing table complete with a pickle bar, unexpected, playful, and instantly a favorite.

Nearby, a curated smoking station offered joints, cigarettes, and cigars, inspired by none other than Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen. It was the kind of detail that didn’t try too hard, but said everything about them.
Relaxed. Confident. Effortlessly cool.

Dinner & Design Inside the Barn

As guests moved into the barn for dinner, the atmosphere shifted into something warm and communal.

Their first dance was unhurried and genuine which set the tone for the rest of the night. Parent dances carried that same sense of closeness, grounding the celebration in family before the energy began to build.

Heartfelt speeches brought both laughter and reflection, offering glimpses into the relationships that shaped N & M and the life they’ve built together.

Each place setting held a personal detail: N & M thrifted a collection of vintage photographs, thoughtfully selecting one for every guest to serve as their place card. It was a quiet but meaningful gesture, each image chosen with intention, giving guests something personal to discover as they found their seat.

As dinner unfolded, the evening naturally wove in moments of meaning. A family-style meal created a sense of connection which encouraged conversation, movement, and shared experience rather than anything overly structured.

Fire Candy Catering executed the meal beautifully, with dishes that felt generous and thoughtful without being overly formal. Paired with the warmth of the space and the ease of the flow, it created an experience that felt both elevated and relaxed.

Nothing felt rushed. Nothing felt performative.

It was a celebration designed to be experienced not just observed.

An Effortless Dance Floor

As dinner gave way to dancing, the energy in the room built naturally.

DJ Fish, a seasoned professional with decades of experience, guided the night with a steady, intuitive presence, reading the room, pacing the evening, and keeping the dance floor full without forcing the moment.
It was a celebration that didn’t rely on spectacle. It worked because it felt good to be there.
