Old Habits was inspired by classic tailoring, old New England estates, and a bridal fashion moment from The Parent Trap that's stuck with me since childhood.
Set at the Charles Cheney Mansion, the editorial brought those references together with a fresh take on traditional wedding design. One that felt fitting for the setting without being too expected.
For me, Old Habits was about taking the parts of tradition we love and permitting ourselves to do something a little different with them.
Old Habits was created with a clear creative direction, but never with the intention of controlling every interpretation.
Two photographers documented the editorial, each bringing a distinctly different perspective to the same setting, fashion, and details.
Rather than asking them to create identical imagery, we wanted to see what could happen when two artists were given the same world and the freedom to capture it differently.
Bella’s Photo Garage captured what the photos couldn’t, the movement, energy, and little moments throughout the day.
See what inspired Old Habits and how the history, fashion, and setting of the Charles Cheney Mansion shaped this Connecticut wedding editorial.
